Jordan & Erica

There is nothing like a best friend. I know that I have posted about it before, but Erick and Jordan are so lucky to have such great best friends. Last night the Cowley family had their annual summer swim party and after the soccer game we made it for the last little bit. Erick and Chantry stayed so that they could go to the entire thing. Jordan was so excited to see Erica and was determined that since I had the camera she wanted pictures of them showing thir muscles. I'm not exactly sure why but it did turn out cute. I also convinced them to let me take a couple of other pictures. They are such cute girls!!!!

And of course I couldn't forget my cute boys. These two have been pretty inseparable this summer and with Xbox live they can play games online and talk to each other with the headset. It's a pretty awesome setup.

Soccer Season

By far, soccer is Jordan's most favorite sport. She has been dying for the season to start and last night was her first game. She is on the Hot Spot team( check out the fun flourescent yellow jerseys :o) This year is a little different, the numbers for soccer are way down, so her team is pretty small, only 9 players. I guess this means that she should see quite a bit of playing time. We are looking forward to a fun season ahead.

Fearless

Jordan has always loved the water. Ever since she was big enough to get in the pool she has loved swimming. In fact she was begging to go off of the high dive at 3. She still likes to go off of the high dive first thing. Thank goodness for swimming lessons :o). The fire department rented the pool for Monday evening, so this is the first time I've got to watch her swim this year. She was even nice enough to let me take pictures.

Me & Jordan

It's interesting how you can love all of your children equally, but get along better with one of them. Generally Erick and I get along the best. I don't know why, but we just do. Maybe it is because we are both the oldest children, maybe it's the momma's boy thing, who knows? We just get along. Jordan and I on the other hand butt heads an awful lot, she can really drive me nuts. Richard insists that it is because we are too much alike, and I think maybe that is true. But every once in a while, Jordan is just her momma's girl, like the sweet little girl she used to be, not the sassy, opinionated, feisty young women that she is becoming. My grandma took this picture of us when they were down for Memorial Day weekend. I thought it was sweet and it reminded me that I love my little girl so much no matter what.

Learners Permit.

Well, it is official, Erick is legally able to drive (with one of his parents, of course). He got his learners permit yesterday. He sent me a text that read "I got it". I texted back "Got what?". As soon as I pressed send, I knew what he was talking about (so much for the mom of the year award :o). So he sent me a picture message. Then I got sick to my stomach, it is so hard to believe that he is that old. Where has the time gone?????

End of the Tragedy

So we went the entire weekend without the XBox. Sunday at church, I mentioned to my cousin Lynn Robins (who happens to be a UPS driver) that Erick was none too happy with big brown. He let me in on the fact that he could have prevented the entire waiting incident from happening. I told him, we could wait. Anyhow, monday morning I got a UPS package on my desk, from the repair center. So thanks to Lynn, our XBox was home safe and sound earlier than it could have been. Needless to say all is well with Erick.

Some guys have all the luck....NOT

Poor Erick. This Xbox thing is really taking it's toll on the poor kid. He got a call yesterday from UPS saying that they had a package to deliver tomorrow (Friday) that would require a signature. He sat home all day until 7:30 p.m. when he reluctantly went over to the Stake HoeDown with his dad and guess who showed up after they left. You got it, UPS. Needless to say he is not too impressed with "Big Brown". Now he has to wait until Monday to get the Xbox back. And so the saga continues :o)
