Miss Congenality

Interview Outfit
Production Number

Last Saturday Jordan participated in the Junior Miss North Sevier Pageant. They had to do an interview, a production number, a casual outfit, a talent, an onstage question and a party dress. She was awesome. She was awarded Miss Congenality, which surprised her, I'm not sure why. She also earned the Scholastic Award, this was for being the only girl out of the 11 with a 4.0 GPA. That was the award that I was most proud of, a culmination of all of her hard work so far. We are so proud of her. In the above picture, Jordan is in the short pink dress.

My Favorite Indulgences

I looked up the definition of indulgence-To give in to the desires of, especially to excess; to yield to;to allow oneself a special pleasure. So it is true I like to indulge.
My top 10 favorite indulgences in no particular order
1. Victoria's Secret. I love the bath and body, especially Luscious Kisses. I also love their bras. There is nothing quite like them and if you have to wear one, why not wear a great one?
2. Belgian Chocolates. I have been spoiled. When the guys I work with have traveled to Belgium to the Baler plant, they have always brought me back chocolates. YUM!!!!
3.Having my nails done. I absoultely love the 2 hours I get to spend with M'shelle and the result is always amazing.
4. Getting my hair professionally colored. Nicky does an outstanding job and it is so worth it.
5.My Lucchesse Boots. I am not a cowgirl and will never be one, but my boots are so dang cute, comfortable and awesome.
6. Silver Jeans. I adore how they fit my body and the fact that I can actually find them short enough.
7. A good Book. I have been able to read so much lately and I had forgotten how much I love it.
8.My Cannon Camera. True I dont use it as much as I should or do I know as much about it as I could, but I adore the great pictures that I have been able to take with it.
9. My i-pod. I have my own radio station where ever I go. I have a adapter so I can listen in the car and in central Utah, that is a plus
10.Einstein Brothers Bagles. A fantastic breakfast. Cinnamon and Sugar are my absolute favorite.

Pizza Perfect

Erick and Jordan think that Ive gone crazy, taking pictures of dinner, but I couldn't help it. I made pizza for dinner last night and it was just so beautiful, I couldn't help myself. I've made lots of pizza's over the years and I'm always aiming for the perfect one. The right crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. This is as close as I have come. You may notice that it is 1/2 and 1/2 for my picky eaters (Richard and Jordan). Mine and Erick's half is pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, olives and pineapple. The crust was great, but Erick would like to see if I can make the underneath crust a little thicker and the outside crust a little thinner. At least I have something to aim for =)

There is nothing better than good friends

Chan, Erick and Brogan
Jr Prom 2010
These are my boys. Aren't they so handsome? Erick is so lucky to have such good friends. He and Chan have been friends for 12 years and he and Brogan have been friends for the past couple years. These boys are just like part of our family. They give Jordan crap like she is their sister. They participate in our off the wall dinner conversations. They walk in and know where to find a snack. They are such good boys. As a mom, it is so great when your kids have such awesome friends.

The Shaw Girls

Ainsley and Jordan

Addison

Alivia

We are so stinkin lucky to know these girls. Jordan has always wanted little sisters and she couldnt have asked for cuter, funnier, sweeter girls than these 3. These are my good friend Misty's girls and we love them. Ainsley is the oldest, she will be 6. She so reminds me of Jordan. They both share the same great leadership qualities, the knack for the dramatic, the love of life and the ability to just have fun!! Addison is the middle girl, she is 4. She is so laid back and happy. She is a cuddle bug and Jordan could snuggle with her all day. The baby is Alivia, she is turning 2. We have been so fortunate to be a part of her life right from birth. She is so spunky and independent. She's her mommy's girl, but every once in a while she loves us too. We absolutely love and adore these girls and are so glad we are a part of their lives.

Family

I have this amazing camera that I hardly ever get out anymore. I dont know why. It could be the fact that when I do everyone hides. On Mother's Day we took our mom's to dinner then met back at our house for cake and ice cream for my 35th birthday and Richard's moms 65th birthday. I joked about putting 100 candles on the cake, but we may have had to call in back up for that fire =) Anyway back to the camera, Jordan appointed herself photographer for the evening and got some fun pictures.

Salena, My mom & me. I am so lucky to have inherited my mom & grandma Thelma's genes. Neither one of them look their age and I've been told I dont either (Yeah!!!)

Richard with his brother, Gaden and his mom LaVina. They weren't so thrilled about getting their pictures taken, but it was nice cause we dont have very many of them together.

Me and my so serious sister, Salena. I really should have posted the 1st one Jordan took, but Salena would probably kill me. I looked cute though lol

And last but not least, me and my adorable kids. It is so weird when your kids are as tall as you are. They are sure growing up, but I'm loving every minute of it.

The Best Mom's

Happy Mother's Day!!! I'm sure you are wondering what a picture of my drapes has to do with mother's day. My extremely talented mom designed and made these drapes just for me. I don't think I tell her enough how much I admire her. She is the most independent woman I know. If something needs to be done, she just does it. She is a great mom and wonderful grandma.
My grandma Thelma is also one of the best. I had the opportunity to talk about her at Relief Society a few weeks ago. I have the best memories of staying with my grandma over the summers. They are the best memories of my childhood. She is an amazing woman, and I am so lucky to have the best grandma in the world.
My step mom Maryanne is amazing too. She is so sweet and thoughtful. She has been so good for my dad and I am really greatful for that. She makes it so easy for all of our family to get along and that is the best feeling ever.
My sister is a great mom. She is so fun. I'm sure she embarrasses Ashlynne once in a while, but we all get a kick out of her. She is so sweet and caring and I am proud of how far she has come.
My aunt Terri is also another amazing mom. I don't know how she does it. Keeping up with 6 kids and a business. I have always admired her and she has raised 3 daughters that have become such amazing moms as well.
Last but not least my best friend Misty is one of the best mom's I know. She has the 3 most beautiful, fun, active girls. They always look adorable and are just so fun. Misty is Young Women's President and Song Leader Coach, not to mention keeping up with Braydan and the family business. She rocks at everything she does.
I am so lucky to be surrounded by such great examples. I am also the luckiest woman in the world to be mom to 2 of the most wonderful kids ever, Erick and Jordan. Being a mom is the best thing that has ever happened to me. It is by far my most important job and hopefully the one that I do the best.

Where Does the Time Go???

Since I went on Blog Vacation Erick has had 2 birthdays, his 16th and 17th. Most days I have a hard time believing that the 5 pound little boy we brought home from the hospital 17 years ago is now a young man. I was a little worried when he turned 16 and got his drivers license, but boy is that the greatest thing ever. I haven't had to worry about how he or Jordan are going to get somewhere for a year, which is a huge relief =). Erick is a amazing son. He has a great personality, he is so incredibly funny. He comes up with some of the best stuff without hesitation. He knows how to make people laugh for sure. He is also so smart, he knows so many interesting facts and is always learning. He is always so willing to help out, whether it be for me or a friend, you can always count on him. I am so proud of him and the great young man that he has become.

I know it has been over a year

Absolute Blog failure is not even close to describe my blog. I've intended on posting in the last year, honest I have. But as anyone who looks at my blog knows, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. But today I was taking a break and looked at my good friend Misty's blog and read her reasons for blogging, all the while shaking my head up and down agreeing totally. So as of today May 3,2010 I am turning over a new leaf. I may not blog everyday, but I am making it my goal to at least once a week.

So for my 1st post after being on hiatus. I figured that since the last post I did was when we had puppies, which was 11 months ago I should do a little update. We ended up keeping 2 puppies not just the golden one. Hunter is what we named the gold one we intended to keep, he is gorgeous, but he is a turd. He chews everything and is always getting into some sort of mischief. The other one we kept was one of the two black little girls. Her name is Bella and she is the sweetest, smartest dog. She is so well behaved, nothing like her brother. She is a little odd at times, Jordan thinks she was the runt or the puppy that got stuck, nevertheless, I fell in love with her and now we are the proud owners of 4 Labrador Retreivers. Crazy I know, but we love them all.
This picture was taken when the puppies were 6 weeks, just before they started going to their new homes. Hunter is obvious, but I have no idea which one is Bella.

Here is Hunter today. He is a pretty good combination of Sadie and Rowdy. He has the softest fur and the cutest face, but don't let him fool you. He is about the same size as Sadie.

This is Bella today. She is such a sweet tempered, smart dog. She is pretty small and I hope she stays that way.
