Our little "Dillweed"

Jordan affectionately calls Rowdy a "Dillweed", and I hate to say it, but he kinda is. He does some pretty funny things. Like last night, Richard put up his deer target. Both Sadie and Rowdy watched him do it. Well he walked away and next thing we know Rowdy is out there barking and growling at it. It was hilarious. Sadie just looked at him and the deer and walked away. Even if he is a dillweed, we still love him.

Crue Fest

Last night we had the opportunity to go to Crue Fest, which was a concert featuring Motley Crue along with Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Sixx:a.m and Trapt. It was so much fun; it was loud, wild and crazy, but worth it. There were tonz of people and during the Motley Crue concert it was jam-packed with crazy fans. The pictures are of each of the bands in order of performance.

I planned ahead this time so I got pictures. I had to take my "little"camera, so they aren't as close or clear as I would like them, but nevertheless we have pictures of the event. It lasted for almost 6 hours as you can tell by the opening band pictures in the daylight. Just for fun, our blog music is songs from the concert.

Funny Story Update

So we just checked online to see if the XBox has reached the repair center, they are waiting for arrival. So we checked UPS and due to adverse weather conditions the package will be delivered when the weather has cleared up. Needless to say Erick is not too impressed with Hurricane Dolly, he has had some colorful things to say. This development is causing some severe stress!! We will keep you updated :o)

Funny Story

Ok, so those of you that know Erick, know that his Xbox 360 is his most prized possession. Well Monday we had a bit of a "tragedy in the family". The Xbox has experienced a hardware failure, rendering it pretty much useless. This devastated Erick, we had to immediately get on the phone and arrange to get it sent in for repair. So Tuesday I took it to work, packed it very carefully into a padded box and sent it in to be fixed. The funny part is that when I came home from work for lunch about 1:30 p.m. Erick was still in his PJ's. He was experiencing separation anxiety or some type of Xbox induced depression. Fortunately, Chan has an Xbox and being the great friend that he is had Erick bring Rock Band up to play, helping with his therapy :o) Hopefully we will survive the estimated 2-3 weeks that it will take for repair.

Saturday Fun

We had a pretty fun day today. This morning we went to the car show. It is fun to see all of the old cars. Jordan fell in love with several of the cars and informed us that when she turns 16 she would like this one or that one or...(you get the picture) My very favorite is the truck below. The paint on it was gorgeous. The red paint was the prettiest that I have ever seen. Now that would be the one I want when I turn 16:o) After we went to the car show, we went for a 4 wheeler ride. This is the first time we have had the 4 wheelers out all summer. It was a fun ride. We are so lucky to be able to just leave from our house and end up in the mountains. We rode up through Lost Creek to Rex's Reservoir. Our intention was to go up higher, but the weather wasn't so cooperative so we ended up going down through Soldier Canyon. Richard did take us on a detour through "the rocks" where they hunt for Elk and Jordan was convinced that we were lost. Richard knew where we were, so technically we were not lost. The kids were glad to get home, but their parents could have definately ridden longer.

Seeing Red

Jordan has been begging to get colored streaks in her hair forever. Ok what can I say I'm a pushover and gave in. Tonight we put red streaks in her hair, she loves it- I am undecided. Hopefully it comes out before school starts :)

Cowboy Smigz

I know that it has been a while since I've posted anything :). Erick has been pretty busy this month with scout camp and the trek. Our church takes the youth (14 and older) on a re-creation of the trek that the pioneers made to the Salt Lake Valley. Erick wasn't really too hip on the idea, considering that he had been to scout camp the week before, but I knew it would all work out. Part of the trek is dressing the part, no logo t-shirts and they were suppose to wear a hat, and not the baseball kind. So we made a trip to Burns Saddlery. Luckily they had some hats for a pretty good price and I found a western type shirt that was pretty cute. Strangely enough Erick really likes the hat. He put it on with his AC/DC t-shirt, jeans and flip flops (sorry no picture) and wore it around for quite a while. Jordan and Chan nicknamed him "Cowboy Smigz". Anyhow, Erick went on the trek and really had an enjoyable experience. He was put in a "family" with our dentist Scott Wilkins and his wife Cynthia. They walked a total of 18 miles in 2 1/2 days and slept under the stars. He was tired when he got home, but had a greater appreciation of those pioneers that settled this valley.
