Digging Update

So, sometimes my theories are off. Sunday night we were downstairs playing Mario Kart and we heard Rowdy barking up a storm. He usually barks a little, but nothing like this. Jordan ran outside to find him stuck in the hole that Sadie had dug under the cement. It was confirmation that she's trying to get rid of him according to Erick. To prevent any further trauma, the garbage can has a new home, next to the cement pad instead of on top of it. Sadie has moved to digging in the pile of top soil back by the fence. We're planning on keeping a close eye on Rowdy :)

Becoming Buddies

Sadie has had a hard and trying month. For 2 years she's been the "only dog". She gets all of the attention, all of the play time, doesn't have to share her toys or her bed or her food. Then bam one day we bring this little chocolate brown "rowdy" pup home. He likes to but in and try to take all of the attention, he's always looking to chow down her dinner after he's devoured his own, he picks up her toys and plays with them, and he thinks he needs to lay in her bed even though he has one of his own. If you can believe this, he even has the nerve to chase her around and bark at her too. Despite all of that he is kind of cute, and it is fun to have someone to play with when everyone is gone, and he doesn't take up a whole lot of room in the bed quite yet, maybe he will be ok to have around. Day by Day it seems like Sadie and Rowdy are becoming friends. Everyonce in a while we'll sneak a peak of them playing or napping together. It's really cute and hopefully one day Sadie will be happy and content that Rowdy is part of the family.

Digging for Gold????

The last week Sadie has been on a treasure hunt. She insists on digging the dirt out from under the cement pad that the trash can is on. Erick and Jordan keep filling it back in, but she keeps digging it back out. They have a few theories on this. Theory #1 she is trying to find an alternate route inside of the house, other than the back door. Theory #2 she is hoping Rowdy will go down in there and she can fill the hole in and get rid of him. I don't think either is true, Theory #3 she is still feeling the sting of loosing her "only dog" status and the fact that now she has a playmate Erick and Jordan don't think they need to play with her as much - translated she has a lot of energy and she's bored. (That's Rochelle psychology 101 :) I hope we soon figure this one out before she digs the entire foundation out.

Dance Recital 2008

Dance Recital

Tonight was Joradan's dance recital. As always it was amazing. Jordan is such a beautiful dancer. She is so graceful and always does such a wonderful job. She works really hard, but dancing comes to her pretty naturally. I always look forward to seeing what they have learned. Jordan's favorite dance is usually the Jazz dance, but I always have loved watching her ballet or lyrical dances.

Friends

Erick and Jordan are very lucky to each have awesome Best Friends.
Erick and Chan have been friends since preschool which is 11 years now. At first they seem like an odd pair. Chantry is pretty outgoing and athletic. Erick is very shy and not so much into sports. They do have some things in common they both like video games and girls. Nevertheless, they are really good friends. Chan is like our adopted child, when he's here he is just part of the family.
Jordan and Erica have been best friends since they were 3. They do have a lot in common and they compliment each other. They both love sports, dance, hanging out and all of the things girls do without being too "girly". They never get tired of each other, they aren't mean to each other (like most girls). They are a lot more like sisters. We love having Erica around.

Erick's 15th Birthday

It is so hard to believe that Erick is 15. Richard and I are always looking to give the kids a "gag" present. This year was easy, the other day Erick was watching Spongebob Squarepants, because "there was nothing else on". My thoughts on this are another story, anyhow I thought it would be funny to get him a Spongebob. Jordan found this great little Spongebob See & Say. I wrapped it up all nice and Erick thought it was the wireless adapter for his X box 360 that he has been dying for.

Well, needless to say he was not really happy with this gift. He sat there for about a minute somewhat stunned and then proceeded to say "What the Hell??" We all laughed our heads off.

It was the funniest reaction I've seen in a long time. No worries though, Richard went and got Erick's real present, his own golf clubs. He did like and appreciate those. The neat thing about Spongebob is that he will be able to attach it to his golf bag :)
