Our Family BBQ

Family Pictures & BBQ

After about a year of planning, we finally got our family pictures done. We went out to Maple Grove with my dad and Maryanne and had our pictures done with our entire family (well if you consider my family and Salena's family entire- which indicates to me a lot of people, which we are not) Anyway, it was fun. We had a group picture and then individual families, plus Grandma & Grandpa with the grandkids. Then afterwards we barbequed. The food was yummy and we laughed and visited. What a great evening. I took tons of pictures so they are in the slide show above.

Jordan

While I was uploading the pictures of the soccer incident below, I came across these pictures that Jordan took of herself. What a girl, I'm sure she wasn't thinking that I would post these, but I couldn't resist.

Who knew soccer was a full contact sport???

We had another soccer game Thursday and we will start with the best thing that happened . Jordan scored a goal yeah!!!! However in the process of scoring this goal, one of the girls on the other team was doing her best to not let Jordan by. I saw her grab Jordan by both arms as if to throw her to the ground (I know that the British call soccer "football" but I also know that there is no tackling in the game either) Anyway at the end of the game Jordan was MAD. Apparently in the process of trying to throw her to the ground, the other girl caught the top on the inside of Jordan's lip and tore off a pretty good amount of skin. She ranted and raved all of the way home (yes, this is the Robins coming out in her). Hopefully she will have cooled off by the next game with this team, cause she is out for vengence!!! I miss the days when all they did on the soccer field was run around and make friends :o)

I know it's not too bad, it's just the principle of the whole thing. Soccer is not a full contact sport!!

Elder Harrrison

Today we went to the Missionary Farewell for Shelby Harrison. Shelby is Chan's oldest brother. He did such a great job on his talk. He will be serving in Brazil and I know Erick will miss playing Xbox Live with him while he is gone. We are so proud of him and the great young man that he has become. It was funny, yesterday Chan called Erick to go for a 4 wheeler ride with him and his cousins. When they got back they had dinner and cake with the Harrisons. Then he went down and helped them set up tables and chairs for Shelby's luncheon today. When he got home he made the observation that he was "like an honorary Harrison". It got me thinking about how incredibly lucky that we are to know the Harrisons. They are really just like family. Shelby, Tyrell and Chan are like the brothers that Erick doesn't have. They have always been so good to him and are always looking out for him. Today at the lunch, it was funny how Jodi and I both refered to each other and our boys as our adopted family. I really wanted to get a picture of Erick and his "brothers". Are they not the most handsome boys ever?

The Harrison family: Jodi, Jordan, Shelby, Ty, Chan & Jeff.

And of course we can't leave Jordan out. She is definately the little sister that Chan could live without. But then his life would be so boring :o) (Jordan did her own photography)

Back to School

Wow, this summer just flew by. Tuesday Erick and Jordan went back to school. Jordan was so excited, she started Middle School and absolutely loves it. The lockers, the different classes, two choices at lunch, this was made for her. Erick could take it or leave it, he wasn't nearly excited. He was glad that he is a Sophomore and not a Freshman though. I can tell that they are both growing up. Trying to get a picture was not something that they wanted. I compromised with them on only taking one of them together ( of course I had to take several to get the "right one")

Trek Family

I know I posted about this before, but Erick just got this picture of his "family" from the trek.

I thought it was cute, especially how they did it in the sepia tones. Pictured from l-r are Erick, Landon Norris, Chris Hale, Scott & Cynthia Wilkins, Kelsey Nelson, Kelsie Barney and Micky Henson.
