Big Surprise

For the longest time, I have thought that Erick did not like Jordan. EVERYTHING she does annoys him. She breathes and he is annoyed. Well without going into to much detail (because I don't want to embarrass either of my kids) I realized last night that Erick does very much care about his little sister and he really does look out for her. Needless to say I was shocked, proud, and relieved. I guess it is a big brother's job to torment his little sister to make her tough, but look out for her and threaten to kick anyones butt that bothers her. I love being a mom!!!

This Too Shall Pass

That is my favorite saying lately. Do you ever just have those days that you wonder who in the universe did I make mad. Yesterday was one of those days. I know everyone has them and I know I'm probably a better person for having gone through it, but dang it I don't like it and I'd sure appreciate someone just telling me what I have to learn. And to top it all off, I've lost my voice today :o) So I am sure hoping This Too Shall Pass.

Uncle Luke Rocks

Luke has a tradition that he buys his neices motorcycles and was pretty insistant that he was buying Jordan a motorcycle for her birthday. She was STOKED to say the least. She has wanted one for quite a while now and we keep putting her off. Well, yesterday they came and got her to look at motorcycles and look what she brought home

She had Richard ride on the back with her up and down our street. I'm not so sure I'm looking forward to her going off on her own (the no fear thing and all) But she is happy and has the BEST uncle ever :o)

The mullet really is out

Well it finally happened, the mullet is gone. Erick has been tossing the idea around for a few weeks and I haven't been able to get him into someone to get his hair cut. So Friday Erick, Brogan, Landon & Kurtis went to the Okerlunds to a party and the subject of the hair cut came up. So Tammy said she would cut his hair if it was ok with his mom. Chan got right on the phone with me & I said "go for it". Then Tammy had to make sure it really was ok & I said "go for it". I don't argue too much with the kids about their hair. About 20 minutes later I got the following pictures.
It is shorter than it has ever been and he has gel and hairspray in it. That is something that has never happened. But he likes it and so do all his friends. I think it is cute. Tammy did a great job and couldn't believe how much hair he has. (Just a quick note, Sunday in church the Bishopric about fell out of their chairs when he came in. It was funny!)

Happy Birthday Jordan

So I am over a week past the big day, but better late than never I guess. Anyway Jordan turned 12 on Friday, February 13th. It is so hard to believe that she is that old, I can still remember the day she was born. I was convinced she was going to be born February 12th and I tried all day long, but she is just stubborn enough to be born at 2:30 a.m. on February 13th. I should have known then that life with Jordan wouldn't always be agreeable. But I would not want it any other way. I cannot imagine life without her. She keeps us all on our toes. She is the funnest girl ever. Her personality is THE BEST!!! We are so lucky to have her in our family. This year she wanted a party, but I figured a way around this. Her birthday was Friday and on Saturday was state wrestles and we were going shopping. So I let her have a friend stay over and then come to Provo with us the next day. Everyone gave her money and she made quite a haul, but true to her nature, she hardly spent any of it. I think I ended up spending more of my money than she did. To be fair, we hadn't given her any money yet so she was being pretty smart. Anyhow, we went shopping and watched Bobby take State in his weight class (Way to Go) and then went to Fuddruckers for dinner. I think she had a great time anyway Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Time Flies

I looked at the calendar and realized January is 2/3 of the way over. Where has the time gone? After Christmas, I guess we have just settled back into our boring daily lives. Nothing exciting has happened. It is a new season of The Bachelor and we (Jordan & I) are loving it. We are also so into True Beauty, which comes on after The Bachelor, so our Mondays are pretty full. I have found that doing step with the Wii during the shows eases my guilt about watching so much TV. There are a few other shows we have to watch during the week, Biggest Loser, Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice. It is a good thing all the good TV is during the winter, because I cannot wait until it warms up to get outside. In fact I had a little spring fever and it seemed pretty warm outside until I got going. I walked Friday & Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Erick & Jordan have started a new semester in school and they are both doing weights. They came home Friday so sore, it was funny. Poor Erick could hardly move for 2 days. I keep telling him that it is good for him, but he is not convinced. Jordan is doing so well in gymnastics, her cartwheels and round-offs are so much better. She is working on her back handspring without a spot. I am so glad we got her into gymnastics now, she will need it if she is going to Cheer. Which she is pretty determined that is going to happen. I guess I have rambled on enough for today. I will have something fun to post tomorrow, Jordan is going to get her hair done today so we will put pictures up.

Christmas Day

I know I am a little behind in posting for Christmas, but better late than never. We had a really laid back, quiet, nice Christmas Day. The kids slept until 9:00, we ate breakfast and then opened presents. Both Erick & Jordan got what they wanted (big surprise). Then we spent the day at home. It was nice to have the day to ourselves. I have learned a lot the last few weeks and I think next year will be better. Merry Christmas to everyone!!!
