Surprise Lunch

We (me,Salena,my mom & my cousins) pulled off a big surprise for my grandma's birthday. I had been thinking we should get together and do a girls day for quite awhile, my cousin Debbie happened to call me at the first of the month and I shared the idea. She thought it was great and suggested we should do it for our Grandma's birthday. So the plan was hatched. We met at the Art City Trolley in Springville for lunch today. Grandma had no idea, in fact she asked if they were taking her to Vegas for lunch. It was so much fun, we had a great day. The food was YUM!! and it was just so cool to spend the day visiting. We are making it a tradition :)

Thankful Tuesday- Best Friends

I'm trying to find ways to be more greatful so I'm going to make Tuesday ,"Thankful Tuesday" on my blog, hopefully it will remind me of all of the wonderful things in my life as well as keeping me posting.

I've said it before and I'll say it again I am so thankful for my kids having such great friends. These two beautiful girls have been best friends since they were 3 years old. They absolutely adore each other. We were a little worried when the Cowleys moved to Venice, but these 2 have stayed such good friends. I think it's kind of fun for them to have a friend they can talk to about everything like problems at school, boys of course, and all the other fun stuff teenage girls have to deal with. They compliment each other so well and we just love Erica to pieces.

July 4th

The 4th of July means a lot of different things to different people. First and foremost we are celebrating our independence. We celebrate those that fought for our country and who are still fighting for our freedoms. Every community has their own way of celebrating and for the family of Salina firemen, it is pretty much the same every year. For us it means celebrating from before sun up to way past sundown. This year was no exception for everyone but me. I have been so stinkin sick. I dont know what I have, but it sucks. I did manage to make it to the parade only cause Jordan was riding on the Jr. Miss North Sevier float. But I pretty much missed everything else, including the fireworks. The kids said they were great!! Way to go Salina Fire Dept. Even though I didn't get to participate in all the festivities, I am so happy that I live in a free country and I am so incredibly greatful for those that make that possible for me and my family.

Carmel By the Sea

Last week Jordan and I had the opportunity to travel to Carmel with the Shaws. They opened a 2nd Burns Cowboy Shop there (the other one is in Park City). It was absolutely amazing. It was Jordan's 1st trip to California and to the Ocean. Carmel is such a quaint and quiet town, although there were tons of people visiting because of the US Open at Pebble Beach. But back to the Cowboy Shop, the boys went out the 1st of June and were able to transform a former china shop into a way cool store for those wanting to experience western fashion. My camera was being so dumb, and I didnt get a picture of the shop, but trust me it is awesome!!! We spent a lot of time at the store and the beach. This trip was especially fun for me, because in 3 weeks, I will officially be a member of the Burns team and I am so excited. It was way cool to be able to get a head start on learning the products and about the business.

This picture of Jordan with Ainsley and Addison walking into the ocean is absolutely my favorite. Like I've said before we just love these girls.

Miss Congenality

Interview Outfit
Production Number

Last Saturday Jordan participated in the Junior Miss North Sevier Pageant. They had to do an interview, a production number, a casual outfit, a talent, an onstage question and a party dress. She was awesome. She was awarded Miss Congenality, which surprised her, I'm not sure why. She also earned the Scholastic Award, this was for being the only girl out of the 11 with a 4.0 GPA. That was the award that I was most proud of, a culmination of all of her hard work so far. We are so proud of her. In the above picture, Jordan is in the short pink dress.

My Favorite Indulgences

I looked up the definition of indulgence-To give in to the desires of, especially to excess; to yield to;to allow oneself a special pleasure. So it is true I like to indulge.
My top 10 favorite indulgences in no particular order
1. Victoria's Secret. I love the bath and body, especially Luscious Kisses. I also love their bras. There is nothing quite like them and if you have to wear one, why not wear a great one?
2. Belgian Chocolates. I have been spoiled. When the guys I work with have traveled to Belgium to the Baler plant, they have always brought me back chocolates. YUM!!!!
3.Having my nails done. I absoultely love the 2 hours I get to spend with M'shelle and the result is always amazing.
4. Getting my hair professionally colored. Nicky does an outstanding job and it is so worth it.
5.My Lucchesse Boots. I am not a cowgirl and will never be one, but my boots are so dang cute, comfortable and awesome.
6. Silver Jeans. I adore how they fit my body and the fact that I can actually find them short enough.
7. A good Book. I have been able to read so much lately and I had forgotten how much I love it.
8.My Cannon Camera. True I dont use it as much as I should or do I know as much about it as I could, but I adore the great pictures that I have been able to take with it.
9. My i-pod. I have my own radio station where ever I go. I have a adapter so I can listen in the car and in central Utah, that is a plus
10.Einstein Brothers Bagles. A fantastic breakfast. Cinnamon and Sugar are my absolute favorite.

Pizza Perfect

Erick and Jordan think that Ive gone crazy, taking pictures of dinner, but I couldn't help it. I made pizza for dinner last night and it was just so beautiful, I couldn't help myself. I've made lots of pizza's over the years and I'm always aiming for the perfect one. The right crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. This is as close as I have come. You may notice that it is 1/2 and 1/2 for my picky eaters (Richard and Jordan). Mine and Erick's half is pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, olives and pineapple. The crust was great, but Erick would like to see if I can make the underneath crust a little thicker and the outside crust a little thinner. At least I have something to aim for =)
